This Last Month Has Been Difficult for OpenAI and Their ChatGPT Brand Image.
Multiple Incidents and Data Breaches
Samsung Faced Sensitive Data Leaks
Samsung faced sensitive data leaks on three occasions through interactions with ChatGPT, an AI chatbot created by OpenAI. These incidents occurred just 20 days after Samsung lifted a ban on ChatGPT, which was originally implemented to prevent such leaks. The leaked information included source code for semiconductor equipment and restricted data from a corporate meeting.
Despite OpenAI's explicit warnings not to share sensitive information some emploees still share, so privacy concerns have grown arount the chatbot. Legal problems for ChatGPT have lead to a ban by the Italian Data Protection Authority and potential action by German lawmakers.
The ChatGPT release has also spurred competition in the tech sector, with Google and Baidu launching their own intelligent chatbots.
